Communicator V.90 modem supports industry-standard feature for data, fax and voice applications, it also supports advanced features such as digital simultaneous voice and data (DSVD) technology, full duplex speakerphone, and caller ID.
The Communicator V.90 modem is based on Intel / Ambient MD 5662 chipset; a three-chip modem architecture that provides high-speed data, fax and voice modem operation. This architecture consists of a digital signal processor (DSP), a DSP interface, and analog interface circuit (AIC) device, and an interface device to provide communications with the host through at AT command parsing is done on the host.
In data mode, the Intel / Ambient MD 5662 chipset enables a modem to connect with Internet service provider (ISP) with an ITU-T V.90 capable central site modem at speeds of up to 56K bits per second (bps) for the download portion of the transmission. Upload transmission can be speeds of up to 33k bits per second (bps). Higher speeds (not to exceed 230K bps) are possible with data compression.
In fax mode, the modem performs group 3 facsimile transmission.
The Communicator V.90 modem offers the following features:
- V.90 ITU-T operating system independent
- Up to 56K bps for data transmission.
- V.34Plus, V.21, V.22bis, V.32, V.32bis, V.FC, Bell 103/V.21, and Bell 212A/V.22 compatible
- V.17, V.27ter, and V.29
- V.42 LAPM and MNP 2-4 error correction protocol
- V.42bis and MNP5 data compression
- Fax sends and receives capability of up to 14.4 bps
- Automatic line speed selection
- Hardware and software flow control
- DTE speed up to 115.2K bps
- Settings and phone numbers stored in an NVRAM
- Plug-and-Play
- Tone and Pulse dialing
- Built-in diagnostics

USB Communicator is very flexible USB modems that experience one of the smallest real estate and power consumption out to the PC market. Because of the simplicity of the PCB design, the time to market is quick and less overhead. With these USB modems, all of the futures on driver update that will be simple software update. These products are host-based both on software and hardware. USB Communicator modem is capable of providing ease of use and strong performance that reducing the Total Cost of Ownership.
The USB architecture that provides 12Mbps high bandwidth for virtually unlimited data throughput instead of the legacy 16550 UART bottleneck with the traditional modems.

WinCOMM v.92 is based on Intel/Ambient MD5628 D-L-C chipset with V.34 FastPath? platform. This modem is combination with a host accelerates and software optimizes solution. The FastPath platform's scalability allows the graceful addition of computer telephony features such as speakerphone, and telephone emulation. Ambient exceeds Microsoft?PC 00 specifications for Windows? and it is TAPI-and PCI 2.2 compliant.
WinCOMM v.92 supports all requirements for PC-based communications. The robust host-based controller software and powerful DSP associate to functioning all industry-standard AT commands for data, IS-101 voice, and Class 1 fax on modem itself.
WinCOMM v.92 has many advanced features built in, a versatile platform for future development can leverage the latest progress in CPU technology. Thus, new features and unique hybrid products can be deliver superior performance, less expensive and ease to upgrade.
WinCOMM v.92 is expected to support all eventual new ITU-T V.92/V.90, ITU-T V.44 standards.
ITU - V.92 Standard increased upstream rate - up to 48K by using a PCM stream through a conversion. Three new features are offering V.92 data mode, QC (Quick Connect), MOH (Modem-on-hold) and 48kbps-speed upload. These well-developed countenances significantly reduce connect times up to 50% faster, and also allow you put your data connection on hold for your incoming call if you have the Call-Waiting service from telephone company.
